Referring to a continuation of existence, typically spiritual; “life after death”
A spiritual being believed to serve as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God, typically depicted in human form with wings; Archangels are recognized as the highest-ranking angels
High-vibrational, enlightened beings who once lived on earth as humans, purportedly ascending after their death to support us now; the most widely-accepted Ascended Masters include Jesus, Mary the Mother of Jesus, Moses, Buddha, Quan Yin, Gandhi, and Yogananda
A form of channeling messages that originate not from the writer but from Spirit; this practice occurs in a trance-like state utilizing the unconscious mind, enabling the medium to access information from the spirit world (additionally known as “psychography”)
A favor or gift bestowed by God; the infusion of something with holiness, grace, divine will, or one’s hope with an emphasis on spiritual rewards rather than material ones
The act of obtaining insights from a higher power or spirits—in the present moment—and bringing forth the information through writing, speaking, teaching, or music
a group of people who are connected by a common interest—in mediumship, the group gathers together to discuss and practice mediumship
The ability to hear beyond the usual parameters experienced by human beings; also referred to as “clear hearing”
The ability to gain knowledge and insights intuitively about a person, situation, or event without the need for external information or evidence ; also referred to as “clear knowing”
The ability to acquire knowledge beyond ordinary sensory perception through a combination of multiple senses, such as sight, sound, and smell; also referred to as “clear feeling”
The ability to see beyond the average parameters of the normally visible; also referred to as “clear seeing”
the person in spirit who is communicating through the medium on behalf of the recipient/sitter
A spherical object typically made of clear quartz or other transparent materials; sometimes used in mystical and divinatory practices to amplify clairvoyant abilities, enabling practitioners to gain insights about the past, present, or future
the process of receiving an influx of knowledge or awareness (not previously known) that contains consciousness and spiritual power from a higher source
(Derived from the Bible) a quality of life that begins on earth and extends into the realm of Heaven, characterized by a continued spiritual fulfillment, joy, and eternal existence in the presence of God beyond physical death
the pseudoscientific practice of communication between living beings and spirits of the dead. Practitioners are known as mediums
relating to a reality beyond what is perceptible to the human senses
(As understood in many religions) a remarkable manifestation of divine intervention by God in the universe, where the ordinary laws of nature are overridden, suspended, or modified; it is often described as ‘something wonderful’
a concept that describes an altered state of consciousness different from the ordinary awareness and reality of everyday life
A set of divinatory cards that are used for personal exploration and ritual
an object attached to a string or chain and swings back and forth or in a circular motion; used as a divination tool for guidance, making decisions, and answering questions
A means to communicate with God, or to some deity or deities, or another form of spiritual entity, or otherwise, either to offer praise, to make a request, or simply to express one’s thoughts and emotions
relating to faculties or phenomena that are inexplicable by natural laws
The supposed ability to discover facts about an event or person by touching inanimate objects associated with them
A group activity conducted with the intention of communicating with spirits of the dead, typically facilitated by a medium in a dimly lit environment with the participants gathered around a table
The ability to sit still and go beyond thoughts, emotions and feelings to access heightened states of consciousness
The non-material essence of a person that encompasses one’s identity, personality, and memories; it is an immaterial aspect believed to survive physical death
the nonphysical part of a person, which is the core of emotions and character; a person’s soul
(In Spiritualism) a nonphysical being who has passed into the afterlife and serves as a mentor, protector, or advisor to a living person, offering guidance, wisdom, and support from the spiritual realm to assist in personal growth, decision-making, and spiritual development
the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul
A set of usually 72 cards that include 22 cards representing virtues, vices, death, and fortune, among others; they are for divination and spiritual guidance
